The Group now has a 25 year professional unblemished track record, and has earned a sound reputation as an honest, trustworthy Company in the Real estate and Financing fields. Sahana Group consists of three Sister Companies:

  • SAHANA GROUP currently employs 30 staff and the office is located in Horana Town (240, Ratnapura Road, Horana) , residing in a Five storied 15,000 sq. ft. ultra-modern building, owned by the Group. The company is guided by a highly professional group of Directors and Management Staff. In the land development field, the Company has carried out 130 major projects and sold 3300 land lots to fully satisfied clients. All our land title deeds are clear and acceptable to Banks and we have all development approvals from Government authorities.

    Prof. Lalith Goonatilake - Chairman
    B.Sc. Eng. (Aston), B.Sc. Econ (Lond), Ph.D. (Aston); C.Eng.; M.I.Mech.E.; M.I.Prod.E.; M.B.I.M.
    Professor Goonatilake is the former Director, Trade Capacity Building (TCB) Branch; United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, Austria, and has served UNIDO in Vienna from 1991 to 2013. He was also the former Professor of Industrial Management-University of Kelaniya and a Director-State Hardware Corporation, appointed by the Minister of Industries. He also held the position of Sub-Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. A pioneer contributor to the Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM) Sri Lanka (1988-1991) and PIM- MBA Coordinator (Production Management module). As a U.K. Chartered Engineer, he has worked in the manufacturing industry in the UK, holding Production Management responsibilities. Prof. Goonatilake has published over 30 articles in international journals related to industrial development and quality issues. He served on the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Operations & Management (UK) and on the International Journal of Computers & Industrial Engineering (UK).

    Prof. Suren Peter - Director (Deputy Chairman)
    B.Sc. (Special) Industrial Management (Kelaniya); M.Sc. (Georgia Tech); M.Phil. (MSM); DBA (MSM); C.Eng.
    Prof. Suren Peter obtained a special B.Sc. degree in Industrial Management from the University of Kelaniya. A Fulbright Scholar, he holds a Master of Science in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) and was included in the Who's Who of Students in American Universities. He obtained a Master of Philosophy and his Doctoral degree from Maastricht School of Management (MSM), The Netherlands. He is also a Graduate of the Chartered Institute of Engineers, UK. He is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Management, Kelaniya University and serves on the board of a leading Finance and other companies.

    Ms. Hemamala Goonatilake - Director
    B.Sc. Computer Engineering (University of Arizona) , M.B.A. Business Admin (University of Wales)
    Ms. Hemamala gathered 14 years of work experience with Brandix Group of Companies one of the two leading apparel and textile manufacturer in Sri Lanka. Managerial positions covered: Production Control, Merchandising, Training and Development and Corporate Human Resources Management.

    Mrs. Ranmalie Goonatilake - Director
    H.N.D. Business Studies (Birmingham City University- UK)
    Mrs. Goonatilake has studied in the University of Peradeniya and the Birmingham City University-UK. She was employed by the U.K. Civil service- Manpower Services Commission, as a Higher Executive Officer for three years. Subsequently she was employed by the University Of Ilorin, Nigeria for 4 years, as an Accounts Executive.
